How secure is Apple Pay?
Security and privacy are at the core of Apple Pay (and Rise). For even more security, Apple Pay requires you to authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode.

How does it work?

When you make a purchase, Apple Pay uses a device-specific number and unique transaction code. So your card number is never stored on your device or on Apple servers.
How secure is Google Pay?
Your payment experience with Google Pay is fully secure. Google Pay protects your payment information with multiple layers of security, using one of the most advanced infrastructures to help keep your card safe.

How am I protected for in-store payments?

When using your Android device to pay contactless, Google Pay doesn't send your card information. Instead, an encrypted virtual card number is used to represent this data – so your real card details stay safe.

Your phone has to be unlocked to pay for amounts that are superior to the national contactless limit. Only a limited amount of small payments is allowed with a locked screen, and they are only feasible if the screen is turned on.
